Good stuff. I got super stressed at cons when I was trying to make THE PITCH for the THE CONTACT. Now I don't care! Maybe I will again when I'm in a place to market myself again, but focusing on just having good conversations is a great idea. When in doubt, don't worry about receiving, just give. Have a blast!
Yep, that's him. And here's the "it's a small world" part, I was tabling RIGHT BEHIND Ian at that show. I know because I'm a huge Anthrax fan and spent the weekend wondering how best to say hi to him.
Ha!! That’s awesome. That wasn’t a good a day, but it was an important day. And in fact, I think I met Tyler and grudgingly went to his Kickstarter panel and grudgingly took notes, “just in case” I ever had to crowdfund, and 4 years later grudgingly launched my first book. Ended up being by far the most important contact I’ve made at a con!
I agree with Mindy. I'm sure it will be amazing - albeit wrapped up in a whirlwind. The show's every bit as lucky to have you there as you're lucky to be there. Wishing you a brilliant weekend, lots of great conversations and a few moments to stop and realise that 'they' are in the presence of awesome :)
To anyone at Comic Con who might be reading this, I can confirm 100% that George is an excellent person to talk to about comics and writing. I hope we can have our own good conversation soon, George! I think you've got the right approach here, and I love how you are able to own your outlook and set yourself up to have a great time. Go get em!
