Evening!
I’m normally a morning newsletter guy, but I wanted to send a quick evening update about Vampires on Mars.
Day 1 is HUGE for lifting a project in the algorithm, and as I write this, we’re knocking on 33%!
That puts the book in solid shape to be funded. I know this. I’ve studied Kickstarters. I know the trends.
It’s still scary as hell because I wrote the book I wanted to read.
There wasn’t a trend I wanted to jump on.
I had an idea that sounded fun, worked on it, found amazing collaborators who I knew would elevate the idea through each stage, and I unapologetically wrote what would make me happy.
But I had NO IDEA if anyone else would hear the pitch and go, “Yeah, that’s my jam! Sign me up.”
But every step of the way made me more confident that it was the right story to tell.
So now it’s time to share our story with the rest of the world and see if anyone else digs it.
If you like fun, chaotic, B-movie riffs—We got you.
If you like smashing genres for something unexpected—we’ve got horror, sci-fi, and dark humor mixed together.
If you like killer visuals—Artist Fernando Pinto, colorist Ellie Wright, and letterer Justin Birch brought their A-games.
And if you like playing a direct role in making art come to life—Kickstarter is that gateway.
I love this book. I couldn’t be prouder of how the team worked and how they worked together.
If you want to join the journey, we’d love to have you!
HENRY
We made an agreement—you read this far, I give you a Henry photo. And fair is fair!
This is a crime photo. A puppy belly is exposed and NO ONE is petting it!
UNTIL NEXT TIME
Thank you for all your support. This is going to be a fun ride, and I thank you for taking it with me.
Have a great night! And whatever you do…MAKE! THE! THING!
